Arvin Akhavan, MD, MPA
Academic: Assistant Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine
Professional: Medical Director, Operations and Patient Safety, HMC ED
Sites of Practice: Harborview Medical Center
Dr. Akhavan is an emergency physician and serves as Assistant Medical Director for Operations at the Harborview Medical Center Emergency Department. He strives to improve operational flow and patient safety in the department. Arvin was born in Texas, attended medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago, completed a residency at the University of Washington, and pursued additional training in healthcare leadership at New York University. Dr. Akhavan will speak to our students on medicine as a career.
